Week 9 Early Status Report

Well, a mixed bag of YFF results today; tough to know how it will translate into fantasy points.
[All stats are based on either SkySports or Yahoo match-casts, the 2 sources I find to be most reliable. Unlike the Soccernet gamecast, which, despite its cool graphical shot chart, often attributes blocked shots as SOTs].

Samaras - 1 SOT
Henry - 1 SOT, 1G, 1A (would be nice if he actually covered his cost for once!)
hopefully they each won some corners.

Arteta - 1 shot off target
but Everton had 13 corners, so he may have managed some succesful crosses.
Rosicky - 4SOT
good, but most in my group have him.
Ronaldo - no show

Hoyte, Trabelsi - clean sheets, but not much more I expect.

Weaver - no show, but at least it was not a negative score.

Still to play: Essien, Sheva, Pearce.

What a trainwreck! The EPL managers surely did us no favors this week by surprising us with their squads.

-Ronaldo's not even on the bench and Giggs is. I think United really wanted to score (fielding a starting XI which included Rooney, Saha and Soljskaer). Thankfully Vidic played on scored a nice goal

-Now Arsene Wenger baffles use by starting Walcott and sitting RVP who has been white-hot both internationally and in his last domestic match.

-Poor Chelsea, I can't believe I said that but it's true. I am left in awe of the Referee's inability or willingness to protect the goalkeeper. Now I know the first incident occured in the 1rst minute but Cech had the ball and Hunt had no business even sticking-in a foot let alone dragging his leg. Hunt should have been given his marching orders! (I believe that he will be suspended) Also, I can't believe that Sonko wasn't called for a foul! The Referee just watched play continue as Cudicini lay motionless on this back. I know that the Sonko challenge was nothing more than clumsy, but it should have been called a foul.

    - I think Sheva will score next week as all the media attention will be on the Chelsea keeper situation on not on Sheva "making good!"

Hope you've drafted in some of the players you want for next week, as Yahoo has not yet updated.

I'm guessing that, with Gay Freddie hurt, Arse Wenger may have been saving RVP for the Champs Lge, but I still don't get it - the kid is on fire, let him start and take him off after 60 mins.

I think I'm off the Sheva wagon after watching the game yesterday. Doesn't seem to be "doing" enough to suggest that a goal is coming. It's not like he's not popping off tons of shots or getting into scoring position. He's dropping too deep to collect the ball. Sheva needs (better) service from Cole & Robben out wide to be effective. I'm not waiting on him to come good anymore and will risk not having him.

I'm just glad I did not take Angel, LOL...
